One team, every stage of the tool's working life
GCE's own engineers diagnose, refurbish, reconfigure, install, and support your equipment, from first inspection through years of operation on your floor. Twenty-five years of doing this work in-house.
Every service your tool needs, under one roof
Installation & Commissioning
We bring the tool onto your floor and commission it to spec, running and validated before we leave.
What “refurbished” actually means here
In this market, "refurbished" can mean almost anything, from a fully rebuilt tool to one sold as-is with no technical work, verification, or testing behind it. At GCE, it's always the same five-stage process, on every tool, no exceptions.

Diagnostic & Inspection
Every tool undergoes a full incoming assessment on arrival: condition, configuration, and any missing or worn components are documented. This assessment defines the exact scope of work required to bring the tool to original performance specification.
Component-level refurbishment
Refurbishment is performed at the component level, not the panel level. Worn and end-of-life parts are replaced from GCE's own spare-parts inventory, and subsystems are rebuilt as needed. This work draws on years of experience with the same platforms, Canon FPA-3000 wafer steppers and KLA CD-SEMs.
Calibration to original spec
The subsystems that determine tool performance, optics, stage, and alignment, are calibrated, verified, and documented against original performance specification. Nothing moves to testing until every reading is within tolerance.
Testing
Every tool is operated as a working system on our floor and verified against specification before it ships. Components are tested on matching equipment wherever that platform is available in-house.
Warranty & lifecycle support
Every tool ships under warranty, and support doesn't stop when that period ends. GCE's parts inventory and the engineers who refurbished your tool are available whenever you need them, for the life of the machine.

Equipment matched to your wafer, your process, and your application
Wafer-size adaptation (3''-8″).
We adjust a tool's mechanical and handling systems in-house, so a platform built for one wafer diameter can run another.
Wafer type & material adaptation.
Opaque, translucent, transparent, flat or bowed, silicon or compound-semiconductor (SiC, GaN, sapphire, GaAs, InP), each requires different handling and detection adjustments. We configure for what you're actually processing, not a generic spec sheet.
Built around your application.
Every configuration is tuned to your specific process and automation requirements, not just the wafer.

A "custom build" at GCE is never manufactured from scratch. It's an existing system, refurbished and reconfigured for your specific wafers and process. Give us the application and the spec, and we'll assess whether it's a fit.

Preventive Maintenance
scheduled, planned service that keeps the tool stable and heads off failures before they happen. Our most common plan, and the most cost-effective way to avoid unplanned downtime.

Standard
Defined-response repair and support for a tool already in production, covering the troubleshooting and repairs that come up between scheduled maintenance visits.

Premium & Emergency Response
Faster response and broader coverage for tools where downtime is expensive, plus emergency tool-down response when a critical tool fails unexpectedly. We travel, and we'll give you a clear timeline for what we can do and when.

Moving a tool is its own engineering project
Relocating a semiconductor tool isn't a moving job, it's a technical one. GCE handles the full sequence in-house, for a single tool or an entire line: disassembly, packaging, shipping, reinstallation, and re-qualification to spec at the new site.
Disassembly & packaging
The tool is disassembled and packaged to protect its optical, mechanical, and electronic systems during transport.
Shipping & logistics
GCE manages transport for a single tool or a full line move, domestic or international, including customs and site-access coordination where required.
Reinstallation & re-qualification
At the new site, the tool is rebuilt, calibrated, and re-qualified to the same standard as a new installation before the project is complete.

GCE has managed relocations ranging from a single tool move to full international line transfers. The same engineers who install and service these tools handle the relocation, from de-installation to final qualification at the new site.
The rest of the lifecycle, covered by the same team

Training
Once a tool is installed, we train your team to operate and maintain it: standard operating procedures, routine maintenance tasks, and the application-specific knowledge needed to run the equipment confidently. Training is delivered on-site, on your tool, by the engineers who installed it. Our engineers remain available afterward for anything beyond routine operation.
Installation & Commissioning
GCE's own field engineers install the tool, bring it up, and qualify it on-site: the same engineers who refurbished it and who support it afterward. The tool is running and validated to spec before we consider the job complete.

Equipment Sourcing
If a tool isn't currently in our inventory, we source it through relationships built over 25 years in this market and vet it against your specification before it's delivered. Sourced equipment can also be relocated and installed by GCE, using the same process we apply to our own inventory.
