25 Years of Engineering

25 years, one focus.

GCE was founded in 2000, when the used semiconductor equipment market was a handful of brokers and a lot of word of mouth. For the first several years, GCE brokered equipment for other fabs. Then the business changed direction: fewer transactions, complex platforms, real engineering. The timeline below is that decision, year by year.

2000

Founded as an online marketplace for used semiconductor equipment, by founders from equipment leasing and process engineering.

2002

Opened a facility in Blackwood, New Jersey, which remains our headquarters today.

2003

Acquired our first CD-SEM, establishing what would become a core product line.

2005

Opened a Shanghai office to develop the China market.

2010

Refurbishment and re-engineering capabilities further established. Expanded operations to Silicon Valley for Canon lithography and Taiwan for automated test equipment.

2013

Delivered a DUV photolithography system to a global top-tier IDM.

2015

Recognized the compound semiconductor shift early and began serving GaAs, InP, GaN and SiC fabs across mobile and IoT production.

2017

Shipped our 100th refurbished system.

2020-2022

Through COVID, consolidated Shanghai, California, and Taiwan operations to our New Jersey headquarters.

2025

25 years in business. Same ownership, same team, debt-free.

2026

Actively expanding into India, engaging directly with fabs and institutions as the market develops.

Team

A lean, engineering-driven team with the experience to back it up.

Meet the Founder

Jaydeep Patel — Founder

I co-founded GCE in 2000 with a simple goal: bring expertise and reliability to the semiconductor equipment market. Over the past 25+ years, we've built the company around restoring, supporting, and extending the life of critical semiconductor tools.

As founder, I stay closely involved with both our customers and the technology, enabling fast decisions and practical solutions. I hold a Master of Science in Management of Technology from the University of Pennsylvania's Moore School of Engineering and The Wharton School, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University. I am an investor in Beamline Incorporated, helping me stay connected to the future of semiconductor metrology..

Semicon India | September 2026

GCE will be attending Semicon India to meet with fabs, institutions, and partners exploring mature-node equipment solutions. If you'll be there, we'd welcome the chance to connect in person.

Get in Touch

Tell us the tool and the constraint. We'll tell you honestly if we can help.

Whether you're sourcing a system, looking for spare parts, or trying to keep a line running beyond what the original manufacturer still supports, start a conversation. We'll tell you honestly what we can do and whether we're the right fit.

Equipment Lifecycle

We think in lifecycles, not transactions.

Most independent resellers consider their job done at the equipment handoff. GCE is built differently. We partner with customers across the full working life of their equipment, from the moment a tool is acquired to the day it's ready to be remarketed, which is why so many of our customer relationships run for years.
